In March of 2008 college students from across the country united at the Impact Conference in Boston, MA. At the conference, New York Campus Compact, an organization aimed at promoting civic participation among young people via service-learning and democratic participation, asked students from across New York State what most concerns them regarding the present political and social climate. We noticed a trend and have developed the Great Eight - eight blogs created to promote discussion of those topics that are most important to New York students.
